The City of Markham needed to transform its mandatory driver orientation program to address the logistical and educational limitations of its in-person format. The lengthy, facilitator-led sessions were resource-intensive and resulted in poor knowledge retention, as employees often completed training long before operating a vehicle. The challenge was to create a scalable digital solution that delivered effective, just-in-time learning and ensured consistent compliance with critical safety and inspection procedures.
Artha developed a 30-minute eLearning module designed to address inefficiencies in the existing program. The module centered on an interactive 3D vehicle model that allowed employees to virtually simulate the critical hands-on inspection process and apply their findings directly to a digital report within the course.
Built to support “just-in-time” learning, the training was made available on demand, enabling employees to access it immediately before performing a vehicle inspection—significantly reducing knowledge decay. This practical, scenario-based approach enhanced understanding and retention of key safety and compliance procedures, delivering an engaging and effective training experience.
