Articulate Rise on Steroids Masterclass

Four levels of custom functionality in Rise, and when each one is worth it

About this masterclass

What this session covers

Rise is fast, clean, and easy to hand to a SME, and six modules in, everything looks the same. Articulate has since given Rise users a much bigger toolbox (custom blocks, the code block, an AI tutor), but nobody hands you the judgment about when to use them. This masterclass works through four escalating levels of what Rise can do, and you build at every one of them during the session.

This masterclass is practical and hands-on rather than technical. Over 2 hours of live virtual instruction you will work through the outcomes below, using one Rise course that has hit the ceiling, or the source content for one you need to build as the raw material.

Learning outcomes

You’ll leave able to

  • Build richer interactions out of stock Rise blocks by using them beyond their intended purpose.
  • Create custom blocks that give a course its own visual identity instead of the default template.
  • Describe an interaction to AI, get working code for it, and embed it through the code block, without writing code yourself.
  • Test a custom interaction and catch what commonly fails before it reaches a learner.
  • Connect an interaction to AI, through Rise’s AI tutor or an external service, so it responds to what a learner actually writes.
  • Choose the lowest level that serves the learning purpose, using a realistic estimate of build time and skill for each.

Audience

Who it is for

People who build in Articulate Rise and have hit its ceiling:

  • Instructional designers and eLearning developers
  • L&D team leads managing Rise production
  • Training specialists who build their own courses
  • Freelance and contract Rise developers
  • Learning technologists supporting authoring teams
  • Anyone who chose Rise for speed and has been paying for it in engagement

Less suitable for participants who have never built in Rise. This session assumes you know the basic block library.
