Artha (Sanskrit: अर्थ) : “meaning, sense, goal, purpose or essence

Creating meaning through design is our purpose. Lessons are more impactful when the learner is connected to the material and can associate it with the work they do out in the world. With this in mind, we build learning strategies that blend technology and good design with engaging content.

We make a point to listen, ask questions and learn as much as we can about you. Why is this important? Because every client is different. Every project is unique. Artha Learning Inc. is an award-winning custom learning design and development company in Toronto, Canada, founded in 2017, creating custom eLearning, workshops, videos, AI training, and AI-powered roleplay and coaching.

Garima Gupta wanted to build a company with a heart.

Early on in her career, she discovered a love of teaching when she realized that her favourite part about her job as a software engineer was training others in how to write code. She founded Artha Learning with the intention to mentor, build relationships and help others reach their goals.

With over 15 years’ experience in L&D, training, digital marketing, content creation, education and engineering, Garima is a certified learning and development professional (CTDP) and an executive member of the Peel-Halton chapter of Performance & Learning. She functions as Artha’s CEO and lead instructional designer and takes an active role in mentoring wherever she can. She’s built a strong team of talented individuals who love the work they do, and she enthusiastically affords them every opportunity to shine.

As her love of gardening can also attest to, Garima delights in helping things grow. Whether it’s her team, her clients or students in India, she is passionate about empowering others to achieve their full potential. She was a personal supporter of EKAL Canada for a number of years, and in 2020 Artha became a corporate sponsor.

Through EKAL, Artha was able to support 10 primary schools by covering all of their operational costs so that they can keep their students learning. Our commitment is to increase that number each year so that more kids can access the resources that will give them a good foundation in life. Garima believes that learning should benefit everyone. For her, it’s so much more than just a vocation. It’s a way of life.

Alison Slack

ID & Accessibility Specialist

Alison has more than 30 years of extensive experience in learning technologies, instructional design and education. As an Instructional Designer at Artha, she helps clients create online educational experiences that are visually-pleasing, rigorous, relevant, engaging and interactive. Her passion is guiding others to their own discovery of the power of well-designed and effectively delivered online learning.

Ann Sze

Learning Developer

Ann is passionate about creating dynamic and meaningful learning experiences for all. She believes that learning should feel like an adventure – rewarding, impactful, and most importantly, fun! She is an e-Learning Developer at Artha, and finishing up her M.A. in Educational Technology. One day, she dreams of a peaceful life in Norway surrounded by sheep and cows, with endless scenic landscapes to explore and continue to create.

Sri blends thoughtful design with practical engineering to build clear, inclusive solutions that make learning stick.

Tal’s work is fueled by passion for forging meaningful connections through design and translating ideas into compelling visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Armed with a robust visual skillset from Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Animation program, Tal is dedicated to elevating the visual language of Artha’s projects, ensuring a captivating and memorable learner experience.

Wendy Busby

Wendy is an experienced Senior Project Manager who is driven by Client Relationship Management. She has 30+ years of experience in both the private and public sectors, and takes pride in getting to know the clients and ensuring the best experience possible throughout the duration of our project.
When not working, Wendy is involved in charity car shows, restoration, and doing a variety of art.

Zainab is an instructional designer that has combined her passion for writing and graphic design to design and develop meaningful accessible learning experiences for all learners. She brings a wealth of knowledge in universal design for learning, LXD, and educational games. She is a life-long learner and currently pursuing an MA in Educational Technology.

John Jennings

Instructional Designer

John is an Instructional Design Specialist and Project Lead, delivering creative digital learning solutions and guiding projects from concept to completion. With 30+ years of experience in instructional design, eLearning, and workplace safety training, he specializes in Learning Management Systems (LMS), Blended Learning, Microlearning, and AI-driven L&D strategies. Certified in AI Accelerator for L&D, John designs and implements AI-powered workflows and multimedia content to optimize learning experiences. He is passionate about leveraging technology and best practices to enhance workforce capability, engagement, and safe, effective operations. Outside of work, John can often be found enjoying the outdoors with his family, tearing up trails on his ATV, strumming his guitar, or cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Creative Production Manager

Ken has over 10 years of experience crafting interactive media experiences. Driven by a passion for solving complex creative problems, Ken excels at building efficient pipelines and delivering high-quality solutions that feel great to use. He actively pushes the boundaries of what teams can accomplish by embracing emerging technologies, streamlining workflows, and fostering collaborative environments.Beyond his professional work, Ken is a lifelong learner who loves to explore new creative skills—from woodworking and cosplay to game jams and songwriting. When not diving into creative pursuits, you’ll find him gaming, exploring sci-fi and time travel narratives, or enjoying country living with his spouse, close family, and beloved cats and chinchillas.
